We had a super fun short week!
On Monday, we had an absolute blast being chefs! We made Thankful pumpkin pies and I guess it had been a little while since we've done a really complicated craft because I was blown away by how much their cutting, gluing, and following directions have improved! I was even able to whip up their chef hats really quickly while they worked & they were a huge hit! Some kiddos even wore them to school Tuesday too :)

They decided what 4 things to put on their thankful pie after we created a class bubble map of things we are thankful for!

I just so happened to have lots of those individual pizza boxes in my cabinet & they worked perfectly. It's really amazing when the kids are so proud of their work!
We also made thankful turkeys and a class thankful quilt, but I forgot to take pictures of those! Our centers were still food and Thanksgiving themed...

Table Settings with magazine food ---> Writing what is on their plate!

Environmental print puzzles! (Why I asked for cardboard food boxes :) )

Turkey Sight Word Tangrams
Ask Your Child About:
-Writing: Narrative Writing- We wrote mostly about what we're thankful for this week!
-Content Time: How did houses/food/furniture/clothes look long ago? How do houses/food/furniture/clothes look now?
-Phonics: CVC words! Tap out bat/sit/bus/mix/pot!
-Reading: "One Is A Feast For Mouse" (Identify character, setting, & main events)- What did the mouse want first in the story? (just one pea!) Who does the mom think made the mess? (the cat)
-Centers: See above!
-Math: We took our unit 3 (numbers 11-15) assessment and they did really well!
-PBIS Day (Monday): What was your favorite part of PBIS Day?

Lastly: I know you most likely already have a Turkey handprint from VPK/day care, but I try to do at least a couple handprints throughout our year because by the time they leave kindergarten, their hands aren't so little anymore! :( I'm so thankful to get to watch them learn and grow every day!
Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you had a wonderful holiday with your family!
With SO much love,
Ms. Ham
