We had a great week learning about creepy crawlies starting out with an author study on Eric Carle. We read "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" and created these adorable versions of very hungry kindergarteners! Can you believe it is almost their last month of kindergarten?! They have grown so much: socially, emotionally, physically, & academically! Check them out on our bulletin board as they're "morphing into 1st grade!" ;)
We finished up time on Tuesday and then spent Wednesday and Thursday reviewing missing addend & decomposing skills. Time is technically not a kindergarten standard, but our math program teaches it and expects them to learn to the half hour and hour... they "rocked that," so we learned how to tell time to the 5 minute as well!

They loved learning this... I think it's a skill that makes them feel like a big kid! :)
We've been using the whisper phones in reading groups and I am ALMOST finished DRA-ing them all again for April (5 more kids to go on Monday)! We sent a lot of happy emails home sharing their success & oh my gosh it just makes me the happiest!

My sweet munchkins on Thursday during snack- this super independent class was super needy that day & I secretly LOVED it. :) Sometimes I need it more than they do! Ha!

A little love note:
I was so honored to attend the 2018 Apple Awards alongside Mrs. Bufton for Mountain View on Saturday night! We were both shocked to be named Finalists at the awards ceremony. I truly believe that you become most like the people you spend the most time with and I am so lucky to work alongside amazing educators! Mountain View is an AMAZING school & I can't say enough how much I love working here and teaching your babies! Thank you for your nominations and kind words- they mean the world to me!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
With SO much love,
Ms. Ham
