100th Day!

We had another great week of arctic animals & preparing for the 100th day of kindergarten celebration!

We had our first STEAM experience in the learning commons (about Arctic Animals of course...)

We learned about blubber (using crisco to submerge our hands in ice water!)

We used "Aging Booth" app to make ourselves 100 and then write about what we would do...

We also wished for 100 of something during community circle! Their answers were equally funny & sweet!

Then Friday was the big event!

I can't even begin to say thank you to the amazing parents who basically did EVERYTHING for this! I felt so badly that I didn't even really have a job to do during our celebration! From the photo booth, to the games, to the amazing breakfast spread- thank you to everyone who donated, helped, and attended! We had SO much fun.

They have special 100th day homework this week too! :)

Ask Your Child About:

-Phonemic Awareness: middle sounds & sound manipulation

-Phonics: digraphs, decoding

-Writing: Descriptive & Opinion writing about arctic animals

-Reading: Jan Brett author study!

-Science: living things- arctic animals

-Math: Geometry!

FYI:

-Our stuffed animal sleepover is Wednesday 2/7! Please have your child bring his/her stuffie to school and we will go to a read aloud & tuck them in to the library at 2:30! We will pick them up on Thursday morning! Follow on social media to see what trouble they get into! :) **Please make sure this is not your child's very favorite stuffed animal (aka the one they need to go to sleep!)- some kids have a hard time leaving them here at school & there are a lot of tears... please help me avoid this! It's so fun, but so many mixed emotions for some of them!

Hope you have a wonderful Super Bowl Weekend!

With SO much love,

Ms. Ham

Meet Ms. Ham
